F.A.Q.

Are they safe?
The liquid light source is a non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-caustic, lightweight, windproof, light source. It is not a source of heat or sparks and is sealed within its own flexible plastic container. They are great for use in areas which may contain combustible mixtures of gasses or liquids, when ordinary sources of light might pose an explosion or fire hazard. The manufacturer has tested the products according to the regulations of the Federal Hazardous Substances Act and has determined that the products are non-toxic, nor a corrosive or irritant. They can be safely handled by children of all ages.

Are they waterproof?
Liquid glow products are waterproof and can be used in rain or damp conditions, as well as underwater. They look really cool in your swimming pool at night !!

How long do they glow?
Most products last anywhere from 4 to 12 hours, or longer after being activated. This is based on the size and type of product.

What happens if the liquid leaks from the product?
If the product container is accidentally punctured the contents are non-toxic and will not cause injury to the skin or eyes. Eye contact may cause temporary discomfort similar to that produced by soaps or shampoos. Should an accident occur, rinse the affected area thoroughly with clean water, repeating several times.

Does temperature affect the product?
The chemical reaction in liquid glow products is influenced by temperature. As temperature decreases, light intensity decreases, but duration of light output increases. Liquid glow products are designed to produce their maximum light emission for their intended duration when used at temperatures of 60°-80°F (15°-26°C). Lightsticks can be placed in a freezer to stop the chemical reaction. The light emission will re-start as soon as the product is taken out of the freezer and begins to warm up to room tempature.

What makes liquid glow products work?
Lightsticks and other glow items generate light when two chemical compounds are mixed together in a process called chemiluminescense. This process converts energy directly to light without heat, flame or spark. To keep the reaction from occurring prematurely, the two compounds are kept separate by storing one in a very thin capsule, which is broken by flexing or bending the product tube. As long as you dont bend the tube, the chemical reaction will not occur. When your ready to activate, just Bend and Shake and there you go !!!
